January 5, 1988, Maxx Skelly was birthed into one of the most notable cities on the planet, Brooklyn N.Y. Beating the odds, Skelly was the product of a birth due to a car accident, but miraculously survived. Since childhood, Maxx grew up in the infamous 90s era, spending most of his time with television and video games. And although this was often a detriment in his parents’ eyes, due to the nature of the rising violence in the media, it often expanded his imagination to new heights. He was first introduced into the Hip-Hop culture through his older brothers and would soon branch out to genres such as: R&B, Neo-Soul, Rock, House, Techno, and many other outlets of music.

Due to the separation of his parents in 2000, Skelly and his family moved into the Township of Union N.J. Here, he was able to start afresh and make numerous amounts of friends and memories. Throughout his adolescence, Skelly gradually became conscious of the stereotypes, ignorance, and social ills in the world, which often fueled the fire to vocalize his opinions. Music became an everyday need in his world, but just when things were looking up for Skelly, in 2003, his mother suddenly passed away from a heart attack. Completely devastating at the age 15, Maxx felt as if he lost his entire foundation of self and began perceive his world with a different scope.

His musical journey from there on out began as a coping mechanism to the stressful challenges in school, and dealing family and friends. He secretly started writing poetry day by day, building a passion for writing out his feelings. Poetic words soon turned into musical verses, and Skelly began to craft his newfound talent. His life experience had been filled with trials and triumph, birth and death, hardships and happiness, struggle and success. Skelly had obtained the best of both worlds growing up in the East Flatbush/Brownsville ghetto and the middle class suburban life of Union, which had equipped him with various lessons as time progressed.

In 2006, Maxx moved back to Brooklyn, New York with his father and began to pour his energy into a music career. Although his father was unsupportive, Skelly continued to pursue his passion and began to construct a network, of talented musicians, producers, and engineers. Formally known as Maxx@Million, he began to develop the nick name around his belief that his heart, soul and music are rich. Skelly also believed he should not be remembered by materialistic things, but as a real person who made history.
